The annual Gorham High School (GHS) Talent Show took place on September 29, showcasing a variety of fun and entertaining acts. All profits raised by the show went to the GHS Vocal Music Department to help defray costs for concert attire, new music, and other needs.

The two-hour show was filled with both karaoke and live music, various comedy acts, and even a taekwondo demonstration.

Some fan favorites included a Chopped-style skit in which Maddie Rossignol and Abbie vanLuling were tasked with making guacamole while answering various questions. Another favorite was a Monopoly-centered standup comedy routine by Griffin Lord. Molly and Joy Lemont smashed their way into our hearts with a taekwondo demonstration that involved breaking boards and lots of yelling.

There were also many vocal acts. Alden Bertinet sang and played guitar in his own rendition of “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” by Cage the Elephant and Julie Cooper played ukulele and sang a mash up of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” by Israel Kamakawiwoole and “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” by Elvis Presley.

The GHS Chamber Singers rounded off the show with a performance of “Trashin’ the Camp,” from the Disney movie “Tarzan.”

The GHS Talent Show never disappoints with its variety of acts and this year was no exception. The crowd left with glowing smiles and musical memories.
