Business Profile: Holistic Pathways, Yoga and Healing Center

Are you feeling tired and unfocused, overwhelmed and stressed? Are you coping with body discomfort and pain, low self-esteem, anxiety or grief? The mother-daughter team of Bernadette Curtis and Amanda Curtis Kezal, owners of Holistic Pathways Yoga and Healing Center in Gorham, may be able to help you. Curtis and Kezal take a holistic approach to wellness, helping others to find their wholeness through energy bodywork and yoga.

A certified Kripalu Yoga instructor with a B.A. in Holistic Studies, Kezal has been teaching yoga for 15 years. Kezal explained, "Yoga cultivates flexibility, strength, confidence, and a fulfilling compassion within the body-mind and spirit—and we don't need to do pretzel postures to experience the benefits."

Besides her ongoing in-studio and USM classes, Kezal teaches yoga at local preschools, senior residences, and other locations. She recently created an eight-week online yoga class for all abilities and levels with professionally filmed, half-hour sessions, allowing students to practice yoga when and where they want. Since the classes build upon each other, clients may use a single session for a half-hour practice or combine two or more sessions to create a longer practice. A new video is available each week, 7 days a week. Class members log in any time, in whatever outfit, without any travel, to start their practice. A five-minute introductory video is available online at www.holisticpathways.com.

Curtis began to explore holistic healing methods and first experienced energy bodywork over 20 years ago. After surviving a long-term illness and crediting natural healing methods with her return to health, she changed her Masters focus to Holistic Health and Healing, became a certified and registered polarity therapy practitioner, and earned certifications in other energy bodywork techniques. In addition to working with her clients at Holistic Pathways, Curtis teaches Holistic Health in the College of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine.

Five years ago, Curtis experienced the affects of Energy Interference Patterning of DNA (EIP) and trained in this healing modality. "Energy Interference Patterning of the DNA profoundly shifts energy and quickly gets at the real core of an issue," Curtis said. "The sessions work on many concerns, including anxiety, depression, as well as physical and emotional issues. If you've ever said, "Why does this always happens to me" or "I never..." EIP may help you to move past patterns holding you back from fulfilling your life and manifesting how you want to see your world."

Holistic Pathways offers "Wellness Wednesdays" once a month. If you're new to their center and would like to learn more, call 839-7192 for a free mini-session, consultation, in-studio yoga class, or just to ask questions. You can also visit www.holisticpathways.com for more information.
