This past fiscal year (July 1, 2016- July 1, 2017), the Planning Board approved 31 out of 34 applications for new developments and amendments to previously approved projects. Two projects were not pursued by applicants, 18 projects had been carried over from 2016 and 19 were carried forward for completion in 2018.

Nine new subdivisions were created with 82 dwelling units and 17 condominium units. Also approved were 42 mixed use development lots, five new private ways, five new public streets and five new potential public roads (pending approval by the Town Council). One contract zone for the Railroad Ave project was also approved.

Major Site Plan Approvals included:

  • Carter’s Development, 18 Elm St. Mixed use building, 2880 sq. ft.
  • Gregory & Angela Fall, 380 Main St. Complete lower level 1854 sq. ft.
  • Flaggship Landscaping, 298 New Portland Road, relocate and expand landscaping business adding 760 sq. ft.
  • Foreside Enterprises, 9 Hutcherson Drive, addition to ServPro Building of 5,200 sq. ft.
  • Great Falls Construction, 7 Railroad Ave. Station Square, multi-use facility, 24,761 sq. ft.
  • Sebago Brewing Co., 616 Main St. brewery facility, 24, 360 sq. ft.
  • Shaw Earthworks, 11 Cyr Drive, adding building, storage, parking and drive areas, 8200 sq. ft.
  • Shucks Maine, 65 Olde Canal, lobster processing, 28,800 sq. ft.

Subdivisions included:

  • Shiers Meadows, 6 lots
  • Glenwater Village, 20 single family homes and 10 apartments
  • Snowbird condominiums, 3 units Wards Hill condominiums, 14 units Station Square, 40 units
  • Webb Farm, 7 units
  • Bartlett subdivision, 1 unit Jane’s Woods, 9 units Norlek Heights, 11 units
