• Councilor Benner reported that things are moving along quickly to bring Metro to Gorham. The bus routes and stops have been determined and she is excited to see the service begin.

• Councilor Stelk stated that she attended a workshop on Farm Friendly Community which looks into ways of making Gorham more farm friendly. She also reminded citizens that the Gorham Village Alliance is still looking for volunteers to help with efforts to make the Town more vibrant.

• Councilor Hager thanked Finance Director Sharon LaFlamme, for her hard work in preparing the Towns’ annual Comprehensive Financial Report. She also reported that Gorham received a very clean audit report and was the recipient of the Certificate of Achievement Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for the 15th year in a row.

• Town Manager Ephrem Paraschak welcomed Christie Young, the new HR Director for the Town of Gorham.

• The Town Council issued a renewal liquor license to MK Kitchen, LLC, located at 2 School Street.

• Stefania Strzalkowska and Joshua Haiss were appointed to the Gorham Conservation Commission to fill two vacancies.

• The Town Council will appropriate up to $3,000 from the Open Space Impact Fee Fund for the purpose of surveying a recreational trail easement to be conveyed by Avesta Housing to the Town of Gorham.

• A request to update the Town department administrative service, licensing and permit fees was referred to the Finance Committee for their review and recommendation.

• The Council also referred to the Ordinance Committee a request to amend the Land Use and Development Code to allow varied density in the Village Centers and Urban Commercial District.

• The Ordinance Committee’s recommendation that no action be taken to amend the Fireworks Ordinance was accepted.
