On Oct. 14 at about 7 p.m., residents of Queen Street heard a loud crash. They walked onto the road and saw that an SUV had collided with two dark colored horses, which had wandered onto Gray Road, Route 202. Both horses died at the scene according to the Gorham Police Department. The horses reportedly got out of an enclosure at a nearby home. There are no streetlights in the area and both horses were dark in color. The driver did not see the horses until it was too late for him to turn. He was not hurt but there was considerable damage to his vehicle. No criminal charges are anticipated.
