GBE Executive Director

Becky Winslow of Gorham Savings Bank has been named the Gorham Business Exchange’s Business Person of the Year for 2018. The GBE looks to honor one Gorham business person who goes above and beyond for the Gorham community, serves as a mentor and leader, and leaves a lasting impression on all those he or she helps along the way. Winslow, Senior Vice President, Director of Retail Delivery at Gorham Savings Bank, emulates not one, but all of these qualities.

Winslow is approaching her 30th year with Gorham Savings Bank, starting first as a teller in the Gorham branch in 1988. While she spent time in various branches, she eventually made her way back to Gorham, “her home away from home,” as Winslow calls it. After working in various positions and receiving several promotions, Winslow was promoted to her current role in 2014.

A fellow banker noted that Winslow “is willing to do anything to help a business see their dreams come to light.” In addition to her work at the bank, Winslow serves as the treasurer for the Reed Allen Fund, and she’s on the Gorham Economic Development Corporation committee as well as the Gorham School and Business Roundtable committee. Winslow has also served on the board of directors of the Gorham Business Exchange as Treasurer, Vice President, and President.

David Willis, of Willis Real Estate, current GBE Vice President added, “Becky has been an integral part of the Gorham Business Exchange serving in every leadership role imaginable during her time on the board of directors. She was always quick to volunteer her time and expertise to the GBE and helped us move countless initiatives forward. On behalf of the current board of directors, we are thrilled and proud to announce Becky as our 2018 Business Person of the Year.”

While discussing what moves her forward, she noted it was “competition.” Winslow, the youngest of eight children, said she was always competing with six older brothers. When asked her key to success, Winslow replied, “you set a goal, and achieve it, then you set another goal, and achieve it. That’s just how I am put together.”
