Gorham High School graduate, Mavy Le, will be performing as part of a free concert featuring Maine immigrant musicians (and children of immigrants) in a live format showcase on August 5 from 5 – 8 p.m. in Monument Square.

Mavy is an 18-year-old electric violinist, recently graduated from Gorham High School who is Bates-bound in the fall. She picked up the violin at the tender age of 6 years old and hasn’t been able to go a day without playing it since.

Other performers include FAKI, a group of Portland-based students who formed a brass band, Congolese-Americans, Mbanza Nienguesso and Kaylee Kazadi and Hadith Bani-Adam, a Somali refugee.
