The Council’s Ordinance Committee is reviewing density in the Village area that would permit older and larger homes to allow higher unit density under a variety of conditions to preserve older and more historic homes. The move came at the direction of the entire Town Council to find ways to work with developers who could preserve older, larger homes in the area while making the projects cost effective with more than one unit as is the case with single family homes. After review and recommendation by the Ordinance Committee, possible amendments to the Land Use and Development Code will be sent to the full Town Council and then potentially to the Planning Board for further review.

The Town budget and School Department budget will be voted on by the Town Council on June 5 and voters will go to the polls on June 12 to approve the school budget. A public hearing will be held on both budgets before the Council votes at their June 5 meeting.
