The league began in 2017 as the Jr./ Sr. Legion programs began to phase out. The wooden bat league plays on weekdays only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (except for weather reschedules).

This flexibility in a program is a great solution for athletes who may be juggling other sports, playing on travel/showcase teams on weekends and also holding down a summer job. Athletes play all summer with their teammates from their respective schools, increasing team camaraderie with up-and-coming players as well. The Rams, following the semi win headed to Old Orchard Beach Ballpark to take on the South Portland Red Riots for the championship game in late July. Gorham and South Portland are complementary to one another in that they are loaded with talent.

The game was close through several innings, with the Riots getting a 3-1 win over the Rams. Incoming senior Noah Flynn had the lone solo home run for the Rams. Other key contributors for the Rams this summer include right-handed pitchers Wyatt Nadeau and Jett Wing and Infielders Quinn Dillon and Josh Polchies.
