Say cheese for Louise! Louise Cheese is a certified local therapy dog who is active in the Gorham and southern Maine community. She is a 6-year-old bullmastiff. Louise Cheese and her owner, Jamie Sprague, have been a certified therapy team since 2022, and make regular visits to Narragansett Elementary School and Baxter Memorial Library, as well as to the Children’s Museum and Theater of Maine. She also visits the Dempsey Centers in Westbrook and Lewiston as one of Maine’s 6 Dempsey Dogs. Louise Cheese is registered through the therapy animal organization Pet Partners, and participated in the Pet Partners’ Pet of the Year competition this spring. This year, she earned her AKC Therapy Dog Advanced title for having completed 100 therapy visits. She also has her AKC Tricks Novice, AKC Canine Good Citizen, and Canine Good Citizen Advanced titles. Louise Cheese and Jamie Spraque will be celebrating National Therapy Animal Day on April 30.
