Gorham High School’s graduation took place on the high school field at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. The event started with the 2025 graduates walking in a parade to their seats as families watched and cheered.

Families, friends and graduates then listened to speeches by principal, Brian Jandreau, class president Timothy Nagle and valedictorian, Ashley Connelly.
Connelly’s speech was inspired by a children’s book most of the graduates read during elementary school, “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” The purpose of this book is to teach kids about happiness and how readers can “fill their bucket” and fill others’ “buckets” simply by being kind. The imaginary buckets can be full or empty or somewhere in the middle. Her speech asked audience members to not only make sure their “buckets” are filled but make sure to fill the “buckets” of others.

After hearing the speeches, keynote speaker and Gorham High School teacher, Meghan Cushing brought graduates and audience members some meaningful life advice.
Graduation was a special event and ended in the class of 2025 singing “Upside Down” as a farewell. Hats were then thrown and the class of 2025 were official graduates.
