Pictured here are USM President Jacqueline (Jackie) Edmundson, PhD and Dan Crewe, brother of legendary songwriter, dancer, singer, manager, and record producer, Bob Crewe (1930-2014). The two are pictured here standing outside of the new Crewe Center for the Arts in Portland on Friday, Oct. 3, the day of the ribbon-cutting event for the center, two years in the making.
The state-of-the-art Crewe Center is the new home of the Dr. Alfred & D. Suzi Osher School of Music and the Kate Cheney Chappell ’83 Center for Book Arts at the University of Southern Maine (USM), located on the Portland campus at 111 Bedford Street. More about this and the arts at USM will appear in the Oct. 23, 2025 issue of the Gorham Times.
