Rookie Camp 911 was held jointly between the Gorham Police and Fire Departments during the week of July 11. The week-long camp was for Grades 3, 4 and 5. The camp was created to educate students about public safety and what police officers and firefighters do daily to keep people safe.

Demonstrations were provided to the campers throughout the week on various topics within the public safety field. The camp is always a huge success. Fifteen young people participated in this session.

A second session for Grades 6 and 7 will be held during the week of August 15th. That session is already full.

These camps are a great opportunity for the Gorham Police and Fire Departments to connect with the youth within the community and educate them about Public Safety Services in Gorham.
