If you drove through downtown Gorham on Sunday, June 5th you might have wondered, “Why are all these people walking around here?” The answer would be that the Gorham Taste Walk was taking place. The Taste Walk works like this, you pay five dollars for a map of the downtown business that are participating and then walk to each one and try what they are serving.

This year fifteen businesses participated: Wormel Farms, Village Baking, Azul Tequila, Community Nutrition, Sullivan Bakery, Hops & Vine, GHOP, Amato’s, The Blue Pig, Aroma Joe’s, Carter’s Green Market, Hannaford, Junction Bowl and Mister Bagel. There were 463 maps sold. At the end of the walk, you vote for your favorite stop. This year’s winner of the Golden Spoon Award was Azul Tequila.

Young Life Sebago has been running the Taste Walk since 2009. This year it was a fundraiser for Young Life Sebago for middle and high school kids going to camp. Suzanne Phillips is the Chairperson of the organizing committee. The committee would like to thank all the folks who came out to support local business and Young Life Sebago.

If you missed a walk around downtown this year on a beautiful sunny day with lots of things to sample, make sure you make the stroll next year.
