The Town of Gorham has announced that the public can now submit all permit applications online through a service called SmartGov.

SmartGov is an easy-to-use online platform that allows residents, contractors and businesses to:

 – Apply for building and Code Office–related permits online

 – Apply for Planning Department applications online

 – Apply online for select permits such as street opening, excavation license, sewer and driveway permits through Public Works

 – Track application status in real time

 – Submit documents and make payments securely

 – Receive notifications and updates electronically

If a citizen is unable to submit an application online through SmartGov, paper applications can still be accessed through a respective department now through Oct. 31, 2026 and submitted in person in that department’s office.
