The Gorham Rams 7th grade softball team defeated the Scarborough Storm for the second time this season on May 21. Coach Lisa Curley shared the play by play.

The first inning Gorham gave up a disappointing six runs, but then they got their bats moving and scored six runs to even it out. Abby Cloutier hit a double knocking in Lillian Zidle and Elisabeth Willette.

Katie Martin had one RBI and then scored herself putting the Rams ahead 7-6. Miranda Chasse came up in the second with two outs and hit a solo home run and the beginning of a rally.

Elizabeth Ward and Rylee Tenuta both had singles and scored to make the score 10-7.

Kaci Mollison pitched the first three innings and ended on a strong note with three up/three down in only four pitches in the third. In the fourth inning, Miranda Chasse took the mound and held Scarborough to one run and Gorham scored Kaci and Miranda. Gorham was up 13-8.

The final inning saw Scarborough earning two runs but it wasn’t enough to overcome. Zoe Diffin hit a single to get the ball rolling. Chasse hit a triple to get the RBI and score Diffin. Elisabeth Ward had a sacrifice single to score Chasse. Final score Rams 15, Storm 10.
