On Tuesday, Aug. 25 Gorham High School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a public open house to celebrate the opening of four new educational, athletic and student spaces at the school.
The four spaces comprise the expansion of the cafeteria, the creation of seven modular classroom spaces, the completion of the tennis courts and the replacement of the track and field.
Heather Perry, superintendent of Gorham Schools, said, “We are incredibly grateful to our community for their unwavering support of the recent construction project in Gorham Schools. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our patient neighbors on Morrill Avenue, who have shown understanding throughout this process. We also extend our appreciation to Great Falls Construction, Shaw Brothers, Gorham Public Works and other local businesses whose exceptional craftsmanship has greatly contributed to our vision.”
She continued, “This project is not just about building facilities; it represents an investment in our students and the broader community. The enhancements we’ve implemented will provide long-lasting benefits, ensuring that our schools continue to thrive for many years to come. Together, we are fostering an environment that supports education and growth, and we couldn’t have achieved this without the collective effort of everyone involved.”
