Thanks to a story idea from Hannaford customer and 20-year Gorham resident Corinne Altham, we learned that 2026 is Lisa King’s 40th year working at Hannaford.
Anyone who shops at Hannaford regularly will have, at some point, had their groceries packed neatly and efficiently by Lisa. Add to that her warm and cheerful smiles and greetings, she is well-deserving of this recognition.
Lisa told us that her parents first drove her to work at Hannaford in Gorham because the one in Standish did not open early enough. Now her sister Kathy, with whom she lives, drives her to work. Lisa also told us that she’d like to recognize some of her early shift leaders, especially Danny Young, who now works for the Gorham Police Department, and his two sisters, Leslie Young and Amy Young.
It’s apparent when talking with Lisa that her work at Hannaford is very important to her. When asked what her favorite part of the job was, she answered with a smile, “the customers.” …like Corinne Altham, and many more of us than we can count. And we’ve heard that for many customers, their favorite part of shopping is Lisa.
