On Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, about 100 people attended a meeting to listen to people’s thoughts and questions about the proposed Amazon warehouse on Main Street in Gorham.
At the meeting we heard from local experts and community voices on key topics, including traffic and infrastructure impacts, tax revenue, alternative development strategies, and working conditions for Amazon employees. Community members had time to ask questions, share concerns, and make their voices heard in a public forum.
One of the presenters asked the crowd how many were in favor of the proposal and how many were opposed. Most of the hands went up for being opposed, a few hands did not go up at all, and only one hand went up for being in favor of the proposal.
That’s not enough. The Gorham Times would like to hear from more of you on both sides of the question.
